A round, sweet opening: raw cookie dough, brown sugar, a vanilla that makes itself at home. Mid-palate it tips into toasted hazelnut and an earthy base, then the caryophyllene brings out the pepper to remind you this is a flower, not an afternoon snack. Soft, almost buttery finish with a light citrus zest that freshens the palate. In a vaporizer, the vanilla comes through even better. Blind tasting at the office: everyone said “cookie”. Even the colleague with a cold.
Open the bag: a tray of cookies fresh out of the oven, brown butter, sugar caramelising at the edges. Behind the bakery front, the plant takes the floor: damp earth, dry wood, a pinch of pepper, a sprig of fresh grass. The smell fills the room in seconds and stays on your fingers. Someone opened a bag during the Monday meeting. The agenda didn't survive.
One massive bud, tight as a fist, drawn out to a point on one side and rounded on the other. The colour hovers between olive and bottle green, with dozens of rust-coloured pistils twisting through it. Under the loupe, a different galaxy: small anise-green leaves, white trichomes packed so tight they look like powder, a few tips turning golden brown. Neat trim, compact structure. We wanted to shoot its best side. Turns out it doesn't have a bad one.
