Disposable pen: the all-in-one
Let’s start with the format you’ve almost certainly already held at a festival without giving it a second thought. A pre-filled cannabis pen arrives sealed and ready to draw. No tank to open, no liquid to pour, nothing to screw on.
Disposable pen, weed vape pen, thc pen disposable: these are terms used interchangeably, and they all point at the same thing, which is the format most searches actually land on.
What you gain is the lowest entry price of the three formats, zero handling and a shape that disappears into your pocket. What you give up is just as concrete:
- electronic waste, because the battery goes in the bin together with the tank
- no choice after purchase: with most brands, the liquid inside a pen thc vape is decided at the factory, though a few do offer several fills of the same reference

Worth knowing before you judge a first draw: in his review of human cannabinoid pharmacokinetics, Huestis (2007) reports that the share of an inhaled dose actually reaching the bloodstream varies enormously from one person to the next, and with how deeply and how long you inhale[4].
People pick these products for the reported effect close to THC, and honestly, that’s the only straight argument to make about it. Each batch comes with a certificate of analysis (COA) screening for scheduled molecules, and none is detected in the result, that is the verifiable part, and the first thing I’d ask to see, before price, before flavour.
Pod system: one battery, swappable pods
Keep the battery, swap only the bit you actually use up. That one change is what shifts the maths in your favour. The Magic Pod kit’s pods click in magnetically and pop out in about two seconds, and you buy them one at a time, so you pay for the hardware once and after that you’re just paying for liquid. Spreading the same quantity over several short sessions is not the same as taking it in one sitting either: Newmeyer et al. 510 cartridge: the universal thread
The third format doesn’t come with a battery at all. A 510 cartridge is just the tank: a standard threaded connector that screws onto any 510 battery, whoever made either part. From what I see here in Europe, that interchangeability never really caught on, because sealed devices took over the shelves.
- Strong point: total compatibility. One battery can outlive a dozen cartridges, and the oil you picked isn’t locked to one brand of hardware.
- Weak point: the thread itself. Over-tighten it and you crack the seal; under-tighten it and the pen leaks in your bag.
- Weak point: the ones I’ve been handed at festivals rarely come with a batch analysis attached. That’s my personal red flag, not a proven statistic.
Here’s the thing: we don’t sell 510 cartridges. Odd admission for a shop, I know, especially when so many of you are actively searching for a vape pen thc setup in exactly this format. But the honest reason is mechanical, not commercial.

Price: what a THC pen costs and what drives it

The device has one job. A small coil or ceramic element heats a cannabis extract until it turns to vapour, below the point where plant matter actually burns. No flame, no ash, and the design is meant to reduce exposure to some of the harmful substances combustion produces, which isn’t the same thing as making the vapour harmless. Is a 70% THC vape strong?
Tested at 0% THC on the batch COA, so honestly, the question doesn’t apply to our range. A percentage printed on a label describes the declared content of the extract in that one product, nothing more, and we make no potency comparison between pens.
How do I look after the battery?
Charge it before it dies completely rather than after, and unplug it once it’s full. Lithium-ion cell makers, and most device manuals after them, recommend avoiding both deep discharges and long spells sitting at full charge on a charger. Store your chosen product upright, at room temperature, far away from a hot car dashboard.
What do I do with an empty pod?
Please don’t bin it with your household waste. A pod carries a small lithium cell and electronic contacts, so it belongs in the battery or small-electronics collection point your local recycling scheme runs. Two seconds of effort, and you keep a metal-and-lithium object out of general waste. 🌱

If you’re only testing whether a THC pen suits you, the disposable format wins on price and simplicity, nothing to charge, nothing to refill. If you vape regularly, a pod system pays for itself through lower cost per refill and less hardware waste. Only reach for a 510 cartridge if you already own a compatible battery, since we don’t stock that format.
