The group finalised the purchase of CanAdelaar in October 2026, according to TradingView. Integration, including the transfer of intellectual property, is under way. Christopher Martens, formerly head of CanAdelaar, is now general manager of Cronos Netherlands.

Why the Dutch deal matters

CanAdelaar was the largest producer in the Dutch legalised cannabis growing experiment. It supplies practically all participating coffee shops. Cronos CEO Mike Gorenstein said the deal sets up a leading position in Europe for the recreational market, as reported by cannabisindustrie.nl.

The same outlet reports that, under full legalisation, Gorenstein told the Volkskrant at least three or four more growing sites would be needed.

Revenue and profit figures

Net revenue for the quarter ended 30 September 2026 hit USD 63.5 million, against USD 36.3 million a year earlier. Gross profit reached USD 32.3 million, up 76%, with a gross margin of 50.9%.

  • Adjusted EBITDA: USD 17.1 million, versus USD 5.7 million in Q3 2025
  • Operating result: USD 9.0 million, versus a loss of USD 0.5 million
  • Net income: USD 17.8 million, versus USD 28.3 million

The group’s total cash, short-term investments and interest-bearing deposits stood at USD 840.6 million, per Mugglehead. The Q3 2025 figures had included a foreign exchange gain of nearly USD 20 million that was not repeated.

Germany and Israel drive growth

International business outside Israel set a record, led by demand for flower products in Germany. Cannabisindustrie.nl puts its growth at 614%. Cronos Israel logged an eleventh straight quarter of record net revenue, up 33% (19% at constant currency).

In Canada, the Spinach brand remained the number one vape brand for a third consecutive quarter. It also kept the top edibles spot for a ninth quarter. Canadian retail cannabis sales grew only 1% overall.

Open questions in the Netherlands

The picture is not free of risk. The Dutch regulator DCMR Milieudienst Rijnmond proposed a EUR 12.5 million fine against CanAdelaar in June 2026 over odour nuisance. The outcome of ongoing regulatory and legal procedures remains unclear, as does the final status of the Bibob decision.

A standing parliamentary committee is due to discuss the evaluation of the Dutch growing experiment on 11 November 2026.

Ce que ça change pour toi

For now, this is a corporate story with no direct effect on what you can buy. If the Dutch experiment expanded, it could eventually shape the European cannabis market, but nothing in the figures confirms that.
